The supercharged 2010 BMW E92 M3 Coupe overview. All the goodness remains. Truth be told, the F80 that replaced this car is a better one on paper. It’s lighter. The engine is more powerful, with a much broader torque curve. The chassis is significantly more solid and maneuverable.
This BMW 3 Series E90 320d EfficientDynamics Edition model was produced in the period between Mar-2010 and Nov-2011 model years. Equipped with straight 4 diesel engine with 1995 ccm capacity it produces 163 Hp and 120 kW power at 3250 rpm and 380 Nm torque at 1900 rpm with top claim speed 228 km/h and acceleration 0-100 km/h in 8,0 s
I know the power of the M3 will get boring to me at some point. I think the issue is the torque. While 400+hp is rather respectable for a daily driver, 295lb-ft of torque just isn't enough in my opinion. I had honestly assumed because it is a BMW that going forced induction would cost $15k-$20k just for the kit.
Well the engine is always number one, but it goes beyond that. It’s just so well balanced in everything it does. Nice sized trunk, good supportive seats, an interior that I thought was a step above the F30, despite being older. Suspension that never killed you with a harsh ride, always capable.
BMW, however, has made some changes to boost the M3's low-end torque. The M5's 5.0-liter V-10 has a torque peak of 383 lb-ft at a high 6100 rpm. The M3 makes 295 lb-ft at a more reasonable 3900
Principally used in the fourth iteration of the BMW M3, the 4.0-liter S65 V8 engine was a hard-charging unit, clocking in a 0-60 mph sprint time of 4.6 seconds. Deeply rewarding to drive, the S65
The BMW E92 M3 GTS came out in 2010 and came with a lot more performance upgrades in the form of a more powerful engine, lighter curb weight, better suspension, superior aerodynamics, and better brakes. The 4.4-liter naturally aspirated V8 came mated to the 7-speed DCT and the 0-60 mph time came down to 4.4 seconds.
