Yup, DDR5 unlike DDR4 can run with a single stick fine. Though I still definitely would not do it. Single vs Dual channel doesnât really matter with DDR5 because of the way itâs built compared to older RAM. 16gb is fine for gaming. Rlly u only need 32+ if ur doing creative work ie. editing 4K video or photoshop.
Having extra RAM beyond what is needed will not help performance at all. To add to this, if you have less than what is needed it will lower performance. You want a minimum of 16 gb ram. Any more is extra, nice but extra. Having more will certainly do better for you but itâs really not necessary.

You can also possibly overclock to 3333MHz or even higher. And right now 16GB is still plenty but there are games starting to require more memory.
